EdgeFlow Privacy Policy

EdgeFlow (“the extension”) is a Chrome extension that shows a cinematic scroll companion (ribbon and creature mascot) on the edge of web pages.

What we collect

EdgeFlow does not collect, sell, or transmit personal data to the developer or any third-party server.

The extension does not use remote code, analytics, advertising SDKs, or external APIs for data collection.

Data handled on your device

All processing happens locally in your browser:

• Preferences — settings such as enabled state, style, intensity, side, tail, blast, performance mode, reduce motion, and blocked hostnames are stored with Chrome’s storage API (chrome.storage.sync / chrome.storage.local). Sync storage may sync across your Chrome browsers via your Google account; the developer never receives this data.
• Custom avatar — if you upload an image, it is stored locally in extension storage on your device.
• Scroll and page context — scroll position and limited page context (for example hostname for the site block list, and local visual cues such as colors or sticky layout) are used only to render the on-page animation. This information is not logged, stored as browsing history by EdgeFlow, or sent off your device.

Permissions

• storage — save your preferences and optional custom avatar.
• scripting — inject EdgeFlow into open tabs when needed (for example after install or “Re-activate open tabs”).
• tabs — detect the active tab hostname for per-site pause/block UI and badge state; message content scripts.
• Host access (http/https) — run the content script on normal web pages so the edge animation can appear while you browse.

Sharing

We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties. We do not use data for creditworthiness or lending. We do not use data for purposes unrelated to EdgeFlow’s single purpose: a cinematic scroll companion on the browser edge.
